Fulton County Fire Chief Larry Few is seeking the position of second vice president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

The association represents the leadership of firefighters and emergency responders worldwide.
"I know that my participation in IAFC has greatly influenced the direction and success of our department to effectively respond to emergencies," Few said in a statement.

He has served the association for the past several years as a member of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association board.

He was metro president in 2014.

His focus as second vice president will be on firefighter health and safety, Few said.
His agenda includes health legislation and continued advocacy of fire department-based emergency medical services.

Few noted the mission of the Fulton County Fire Rescue Department is "to provide fire, life safety and support services that are relationship-focused and results-oriented."
The department serves unincorporated Fulton County, covering 106 square miles with 10 fire stations and 149 personnel.

The board election will be in 2017.
